Adobe has an issue where you will be editing a PDF and random letters or numbers will be missing in your file.

Follow these steps to bring the Characters back: 
 

1. Select or highlight the text where the characters are missing. (Ctrl-A to select all or click and drag)
2. Under Edit PDF Change font to something different.
3. Then change the font back to what it was originally and they should reappear.
