Surface Pro Microphone Not Working

Most times this issue is caused by the internal microphone being disabled. 

 

To enable do the following:

 

  1. Select the search box in the taskbar, enter control panel, and in the search results, select Control Panel.
  2. Select Hardware and Sound > Sound.
  3. Select the Recording tab, Click the device you want to use for recording, in this case select MICROPHONE ARRAY
  4. Click on Properties
  5. At the bottom of the Properties dialog box, change DEVICE USAGE to USE THIS DEVICE (ENABLED)
  6. Click OK, Click OK
